I fully understand the need to care for family even if it is a set back professionally. Anyone with a soul would do anything for their family. If you make it clear that you took on a position to care for your family and you are looking to get into a new learning opportunity, AKA assistant job, with a great district then you could find your way out. Network, observe, and forge relationships with smart people around you. I have seen teachers get jobs by doing this only. Do not let the school situation define you. Chances are people are well aware of this school and will see through that at an interview. Especially if TEA is going to take over!
