Re: Leaving after one year
Interestingly I had the same exact experience last year! It is not in your best interest to stay in a job like that. It's not good for your mental health. Find a new gig. Honestly, most schools only care about the accomplishments you get along the way. If you have cool things on your resume it makes it much easier to sell you to their community. A 1 year stint in a school where you just didn't like it does not mean the end of the world. I found a wonderful, fun small school gig to go to this year literally the first interview after me and my boss mutually agreed that things were not working out. Some places are just impossible for people to work at. Best of luck, I hope you can find a way to enjoy the remainder of your year there.
