Re: TMEA Jazz Rule Change after the contest has started
I judged jazz yesterday. Judging recordings has ONE positive: I can turn it off when the kid starts to fold. Iím not forced to sit and listen like a live audition. Otherwise, auditioning by recording is horrible. It sounds terrible, the sound levels vary greatly from player to player and the program is cumbersome at first.
Judging region with 60-70 kids this way will be awful and Iím curious to know how many kids will give their schoolsí top dog $20 to ďrecord for me because I really donít want to do this...Ē
This is hopefully a one-and-done experiment or the AllState process will forever be watered down and irrelevant.
