We are not allowed more than 12 students in a room at a time, including before school...unless you are athletics then you can pack the gym and locker rooms.
The region music is the hardest I have seen 22 years for a middle school level. There is no way the kids would be able to pull it off when most aren't coming in person or if remote, logging in.
Right now, we are trying to catch up on lost time. Remember, we lost a lot of time last year, and with our kids it shows. We aren't doing a fall concert and may not even do a holiday concert, maybe just some ensemble performances.
I'm more concerned about beginners. About 2/3 won't log on and about 2/3 of the ones that do won't turn cameras on. About half haven't even pick an instrument yet. We can't get like instrument classes and we can't even split up the classes into woodwinds and brass because the 2nd room isn't big enough for distancing. I'm hoping 2021-2022 is back to normal because that will probably be a "reboot" year. I figure this year will have a major impact on the program for at least four years.
