Re: Why does Admin do this?
This same thing happened at my school this year. Our choir director left at the end of last year for several reasons. Many of them were related to some extra duties she was given as well as how her schedule was arranged. The new choir director had a sit down meeting with the principal before school got started this year. The meeting was less than 10 minutes. In that time, at least 3 (major) things that the previous director requested were changed.
I think some of it has to do with the admin realizing that if their new hire is asking for the same things, it really must have been important. I also agree with the "honeymoon" period. It really does exist.
