I stand firmly behind what I said about recognition for the students who excel in academics. If you and your kid are okay with no recognition, fine. But there are others who don't feel the way you do.
As far as budget, my budget is actually a little higher than the athletic budget. So maybe my viewpoint comes from a slant based on my personal district. But the point is, you can't tell me what goes on in my school.
As for newspapers, if they are "dead" why are they plastered with all the high school football "heroes" every week? Your statement about school web sites is laughable since only the school communities will look at them, where many more out side of the school community will read a newspaper or the newspaper's web site.
My biggest point was about the virus and how some are pretending that it's just a "hoax." Credible doctors and scientists all agree that we have a problem. Maybe the ones who believe in voo doo or black magic, don't. I predict that by the end of September or beginning of October, we will have another spike due to all the football and volleyball games. That motorcycle rally that they had in Sturgis even produced some new cases with one death, so far. But, hey I'm totally wrong. It's all just a "hoax."
