We are clocking in and out of school right now due to remote attendance. I clocked 65 hours this week, but I was told recently that anyone worth their salt should be able to complete any job in forty hours a week. That person said this with multiple educators in the family and no work history (stay at home parent, empty nest).
There was a time when I was OK with this workload and time commitment, but since then I have married and started a family. With the current time commitment, I feel that I have to sacrifice family time for work and there isn't really a choice other than finding another job. Instead of paying me what I deserve for that extra time, I would rather work less hours for the current pay and would even entertain the idea of a reduction in pay or forfeiture of my stipend to gain my time back.
