Another idea might be that the one of you switches to teaching private lessons. It obviously wouldn't make as much money, but you might be able to get by with using a babysitter or Mother's Day Out for child care options instead of daycare because the schedule wouldn't necessarily be the same each day. I loved our daycare last year, but I understand the frustration with never being with your baby. I was absolutely miserable. Even when I could pick him up a little early, he would come home and sleep for hours until time to go to bed. He didn't nap well there. I felt like I was paying an arm and a leg for someone else to enjoy my baby. I felt like we only had quality time together on the weekends. I'm a few days into bringing in a babysitter and I absolutely love it. The baby seems happier, too.
