Mike Morath and TEA were coming out of the 4th of July pretty hard with the line "we're all going back to school or we're taking your money away."
Governor Abbott steps in and says nope we're going to fund schools whether they're online or in-person (smart choice for a guy who wants to get re-elected).
Mike Morath and TEA back track their hard liner statements can give districts flexibility with the first four weeks-eight weeks...AND!....AND!!!!...they give specifically (actually they don't really give they just point out that) the county health official the power to close schools down for face-to-face instruction indefinitely based on their own county's health situation.
Would seem difficult to unring that bell. Just my two cents. Would also like to take this opportunity to say that I think UIL is a bunch of pansies and they seem awfully out of touch and desperate.
