put sour milk in your cereal this morning? OP does not have a shitty attitude. For one, why the heck does it matter that OP teaches at a school 'academically lower' than the school they applied at? If they're having success at a school like that, doesn't that point to being at least equally, if not more, successful at the "above level" school? Two, your whole point about using OP's program to raise the whole level of the district is, and I do mean this quite literally, laughable. If OP teaches in a larger, possibly urban, but could also be suburban district, with god knows how many students and schools, why would their ONE program being good make a dent in the problems the district is facing? TEA does not step in and take action with every little whiff of a problem--OPs district must have serious dysfunction on many levels to warrant that kind of takeover.
I have been in OP's shoes before, so I understand where they are coming from. I feel for OP, because the stigma of working in a district like that, or the district where I used to work, is legitimately very difficult to get rid of---and it's due in large part to people that think like you.
