I would argue our whistleblower laws should be stronger in our tiers of government. If you're doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide.
I understand where you are coming from with legislation being long and overly complicated, but it's done this way because legislation is complicated in our modern society. They have to list out definition of terms, different aspects of rules and where they do and do not apply, who it applies to, and how it will be administered. Now, I would say eliminating attachments that are not related to legislation would help. For example, if we pass a law about labor laws in this nation, do we really need to attach stuff about gun regulation?
I understanding people want simplicity, but we live in a complex society.
