That was me. I still believe that statement. You need to remember that the NFL, NCAA, and UIL are all separate entities. They will each do something different that is best for their bottomline and fan base, oh and their athletes too. The ones that will adjust the most will be the NFL. The players have some power (they can hold out for safer conditions). The NCAA will be in the worst position. Their athletes don't really are anyone to advocate for them. They can't "hold out" without losing scholarships, possibly putting their college stay in jeopardy. It will be up to the individual universities and conferences to make the decisions for the athletes. In regards to UIL, the parents have the power to least hold their kids out of sports until the virus has past or conditions are safe. If enough make this decision, then UIL will be forced to reevaluate the season. But, I doubt that will happen. There will always be kids willing to play. Either way, unless some thing drastic happens (massive number of cases across the state, including rural communities) the season will happen. There just may not be a lot of fans in the stands.
