Re: Serious Covid-19 question
You will not get businesses to shut down a second time. The government cannot financially support the entire country. Families cannot function staying home and teaching their children. Children cannot function falling farther and farther behind especially our vulnerable, at-risk populations. Stay home if you don't want to get sick. The best part of that is you don't have to worry about the people "flaunting the doctors" and "risking lives going out" because if you never leave your house you are never at risk. If you never visit the older people in your family you don't have to worry about them getting sick. Heck, the older people in my family have decided they would rather die living than die hiding which is 100% their choice and not yours, (which I am sure will get me blasted by a few posters on this board).
There was bound to be a spike when people left their homes. Our hospitals are fine. They are not in danger. We are seeing a current spike in hospitalizations but we should also see a quicker exit from hospitals because we are much further along with therapeutics with Houston leading the way in some of them, (especially the plasma one). We have our Memorial Day spike now. In a few weeks we will have our protest spike, (but fortunately from all the TV coverage I saw the protesters were younger and not in the statistical category where the hospitalizations and fatalities occur). This too shall pass. Now that the media is no longer distracted by the protests we are back to 24 hour cycles on Covid again.
Have a beverage in the sun and relax. This too shall pass and we will be back to school in August.
