Re: Adjusting School Calendars (From TEA)
Hide and watch.
How do you figure that? The best thing the rest of the world has shown us as well as our own research is we can build herd immunity in the less vulnerable populace and not come anywhere near that many deaths. And not shut down every aspect of our lives. I haven't seen a single estimate that high and that was with the do nothing 2 million death models that have proven to come from sources that are known for blowing their forecasts in a really bad way! You need better sources.
That's not how viruses work. They spread and multiply until they kill the host, or the host develops antibodies to fight it. They "burn out" by killing hosts so fast they can't spread effectively. Those mutations that don't kill quickly become the dominant strain over time, and the virus eventually mutates into a version all the survivors can handle.
So-called "herd immunity" is what the latter is, but with this virus, earning herd immunity will cost us anywhere from 3.5 to 7 million lives--in the US alone.
