Re: New Program, New Challenges A Year Later
There are some things only fixable by playing Pomp and Circumstance 2 or 3 times.
Either as a head or assistant, when you walked in to your new program, how long did it take for you to feel like a part of the community or for the community and the kids to dig what you are doing? Did teachers and students not like you for awhile? Did it feel like you couldnít get the ball rolling with what you wanted to do no matter how positive it was for the program? What were your steps? How did you handle kids pushing back anything you did? How long did it take to get past that? Did students keep referring to past directors and what they did and or just praise the floor they [past directors] walked on. Itís a lot of questions but Iím just wondering how you as directors have dealt with it.
