Truthfully our school calendars are kind of odd in that they're still based off agriculture that very few kids are involved with now. (Yes we have some in our rural districts, but those aren't the population centers) I'm guessing the vacation/hotel industries would be against it as well since it could potentially hurt the economy of summer travel. From what I understand that group was the reason we weren't starting until the 4th Monday of August until the DOI policies came into play.
Anyway, this is a truly extraordinary set of circumstances this year. I wouldn't be skeptical of this becoming the norm due to the situation here.
