I didn't know it, but my mother told me recently that when one of our family friends got the chicken pox, she took us over to play. Figured we were going to be with them so much anyway, it was better to all get it at once. I do remember staying home with what ended up being the measles the day we were supposed to get the measles shot in school. Had the mumps too (my mother said before realizing what it was that 'my face hurts' was not an excuse to miss Sunday school).
I am not saying I am going out of my way to catch this. I don't want to (although as I said, I think there is a small chance I did catch a mild case). But I am also not hiding in my bedroom watching CNN all day. I had H1N1, and while I didn't end up hospitalized, it was the most miserable I can remember ever being. Way worse that any flu combined with stomach flu I ever had. My point about H1N1 was to the idea that we must wait until there is a vaccine or cure. There is still none of that for H1N1, but I do have immunity because I got it. I hope they get a vaccine and/or cure for corona, and it looks promising, but again, I'm not willing to suspend my life until that happens.
