Lots of doom and gloom in that post.
1. Welcome to how rural and inner city schools have been doing it for decades, now, with parents unable or unwilling to buy instruments. It can be managed if you're willing to spend the budget on it.
2. Again, this is common for all but suburban schools. The trick is to make them care about your subject.
4. No evidence that there won't be football and marching band in the fall yet. Only speculation. The NFL plans a full season in the fall. Unless and until we hear otherwise, it's going to be Business As Usual (TM) in August.
Do yourself a favor. Turn off your phone. Turn off the Internet at your house. Disconnect for a week. You need a vacation, and your stress level will thank you.
There has been a lot of speculation lately about next year. From contests, to games, to class rooms, lunch periods etc, We have seen all sorts of ideas. Sadly, as of now, it can be imagined that "band" is gonna take a huge (TX) size Leap backwards in the coming year(s).
1 Daddy Bubba, that lost his job, isn't paying for a beginner horn, really!?
2 Jr has way more important things to think about than trombone practice.
3 multiply points 1 & 2 by at least 40.
4 No football games = no band= band visibility= questioning relevance and importance
5 Keep repeating those 4 points before adding the many more. I wish that this is wrong, but am glad to have other "skills" just in case "band" becomes a dinosaur
