Re: MusicFirst vs SmartMusic
MusicFirst works on more devices (including smartphones); gives you options for programs BEYOND performance assessment (Sight Reading, Ear Training, Theory, Composition, etc); you can TEAM-TEACH in MusicFirst; you can batch import student users (and NO student email required for an account) - and the assessment feedback is more accurate (including if a student doesn't play for full duration of a note).
Yes, SmartMusic has more concert repertoire, but if the assessment isn't accurate... is it worth it?
MusicFirst you can upload notation files - or use the audio recorder and upload a backing track (audio record you listen and manually grade).
I was wondering the same thing when I got a promo email from them today. But, when I looked at the repertoire on MusicFirst it looks like you have to pay extra for just about every piece of music. Sounds like it could get more expensive than the top level of SmartMusic. At least, that is what it looked like to me.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated?
