Yes, it does make a difference because it speaks to decision making process with obvious data. How are bands going to get recordings if they haven't gone to UIL or a festival? Many if not all regions have canceled their contests with no reschedule planned. Festivals have shut down their contests. Even TMEA was forced to shut down Honor Band. I'm not against OPS. My own bands have made it all the way to state in OPS.
These are hard choices to make. Everyone seems to be either, "What? This is going to burn out in two weeks and we'll be back to normal by April 15th," or, "Why haven't they canceled Christmas yet?" with no in between. Remember that this all snowballed the weekend of March 14th - about 21 days ago. It is okay for people/groups to take a breath. Is ATSSB making the decision now or ten days from now going to make a difference in anything?
ATSSB is still dragging their feet to cancel OPS even though a lot of bands didn't get to go to UIL and all festivals are canceled. Just were will these bands get recordings? It's a no brainer. Cancel and move on ATSSB.
