Re: Cancellation of
10 million jobless claims in 2 weeks. I think there is a balance that needs to hit FAST. That's in two weeks after congress supposedly put out a package to keep people employed. 10 million jobless claims and that number will go up. At what point do we say we cannot sustain a shutdown? And I love teachers but I better not hear a single teacher telling me they are underpaid next fall when teachers were the only guaranteed jobs next to politicians. Just sayin, (and yes, I'm a bit emotional but also quite rational and not saying that in a derogatory way).
I want this to go away as much as you. I want things back to normal, too. But, I want a vaccine that is safe and effective. Rushing the process will only result in more deaths from an unsafe product. This is like a parent telling you to hurry up and get a beginner to play Carnival of Venice on the trumpet.
Doesn't guarantee anything. I have trip insurance for an upcoming trip and insurance doesn't cover pandemics. I may or may not get anything back. I also had a judging gig coming up that I purchased a plane ticket for. I was able to get the credit for the ticket valid for 1 year and no change fee but I did not get my money back. I just have to go somewhere in the next year or then I lose my money.... and I say that as I am sitting here daily wondering when my "you're fired" call comes in because I don't have the protection of the schools. My industry is struggling because schools quit spending money and thus, I am potentially on the chopping block. We need to get this thing over with and get people back to work! Time to rush a vaccine and some meds to reduce the severity. Nobody has time to wait 18 months! But that's a whole different subject.
Bearer of bad news, but if you follow those guidelines with any potential travel company in the future, then you’ll never travel again. These companies are businesses, I don’t think any of them will ever agree to take on a client demanding that much risk on their behalf. You’ll probably find yourself in the opposite situation where the company is refusing to do business with you and “kindly” passing your business to one of their competitors to see if they’ll take on the risk. It would be a much wiser move if the district would require the purchase of trip insurance by each individual for all future trips.
