And they are removing basketball rims from public courts because people wouldn't stop playing basketball in their boredom. BUT Mayor Turner telling the criminals to chill and not commit crimes so that our officers don't have to put themselves at risk will just stop them in their tracks!?!?!?!?! The basketball players wouldn't listen but the criminals will?
Yep. Comrade Hidalgo is opening the jailhouse doors, but will have you arrested for standing too close. This is what happens when you give the keys to the county to a child.
I'm still using logic. 1 in 10 WITH symptoms are positive. 1 in 10 of those positive require hospitalization. More people than we know have and have had this with little to no impact. Yes, every life lost is sad but at some point we have to put those at risk behind doors and not the vast majority of the country. School will happen in the fall or there will be riots. This country will get back to functioning or there will be riots. The Harris county chief talking about needing to start arresting people on boats because they gathered on a sand bar. This is not sustainable and I think people are going to get tired of the overreach very, very quickly. Just my opinion.
I'd like to think this is accurate, the problem is we're so hit or miss with our distancing measures. Add in the lack of testing (I know of two individuals who should have been tested but didn't check all of the boxes with contact verified) and it's hard to know.
You may have seen the video on exponential growth these guys did. (If you haven't go find it - it's well done)
All of this is going to be determined by a lot of factors and it's impossible to actually tell when we'll peak because of it:
