I sense some districts are going become very litigious over trip companies not refunding money paid. I also sense trip companies making changes to policies to allow for full refunds in the case of a natural disaster or emergency (which if they don't have those clauses already I wouldn't have done business with them). Either way, this is going to change the way everyone does trips.
This is why when I did trip before I never used a company. We always did everything ourselves. Nothing was paid until we used it with the exception of Six Flags tickets. Even then we were able to negotiate a buy back we had to cancel the trip due to circumstances beyond out control (such as weather). Heck, we were even able to get refunds on unused tickets.
No refund. They offered just to give the tickets for events to students and parents and let them go at a later point this year on their own. My ISD is not happy with this company. Not sure what will happen with them, but I doubt I will use them again.
If anyone has had to cancel their spring trips in-state or out-of-state, how has your travel company responded regarding refunds?
