Re: Repetitions In Beginner Band Book
I don't rush through their book at all. We play lines until they are correct. Sometimes that takes a little while. I hear people all the time talk about how far along they are in their beginner book. I don't care. LOL. I focus on production of tone more than anything else. I also supplement other things along with the beginner book. This is different very year and often within groupings each year. Do what you feel is best for your group of kids and certainly don't rush through things because someone else is. Good Luck!
How many times/days do you have your students play each line in the beginner book? Do you have them play each line once, twice, three times before you test something on the page they are on? I was told to go over each line five days then test them on a line that is challenging or has a challengeing concept. This seems like it would be boring to kids who are used to moving fast in the age of technology.
