Re: Call the Previous Director every time
Not sure how this is expected to come across. There are so many variables in play and the presumption of complete honesty in the expected dialog. I have been hanging in the business for 37 years. I have gone places that were notorious for problems and things have gone well. I would encourage everyone to always give your best effort, expect the best (even though you will be disappointed), and see each situation as a clean slate for you.
I would personally like for every person applying for a job right now to remember to contact the former director. Ask the hard questions. Make sure the position youíre going for is something youíre prepared to take. Most former directors of those programs will love to talk to you about it, even if they are getting runoff. Donít take a job without doing a vast amount of research.
