The booklet is called Fiddle Tunes For Band. I have 4 of the traditional fiddle tunes I arranged as teaching material that I used to use like class etudes, except my students enjoyed these much more than etudes as they are tunes from living music traditions that I would accompany them on piano while they played the tunes (after I taught them what I wanted out of these tunes) that mirrored fiddle tunes in the format one might hear being played on various traditional instruments in an Irish pub session or in an Appalachian jam session. Everyone has the melody in unison with the piano providing rhythmic backup and harmonies. A workshop session I attended at TMEA many years ago that was on the value of unison playing inspired me to try this using this material with my bands.
Iíve created some accompaniment sound files that can be used in place of the piano as well as I created a piano part for anyone to play backup live if they wish. I frequently used some of these on concerts with my students.
My side hustle during my band director career and now even more in retirement has been as a folk musician and workshop instructor. I simply imported some of what I do in that world into my school band teaching world.
Iím glad to offer this material for FREE to anyone who would like to give it a try. There are conductor scores, instrument parts, piano accompaniment parts and Sibelius generated recordings of the tunes with accompaniment and with accompaniment only. Anyone is free to print out any of it, share it, perform it, add it to their music library, etc. Here is a link to these files I placed on my Google Drive where they can be accessed and downloaded. For anyone who would like to download all of it all at once, there is a file named Fiddle Tunes For Band.ZIP that is a compressed file that can be downloaded and opened to reveal all of the folders and files.

If anyone finds any of this useful and if I receive enough positive feedback, I do have 5 or 6 additional fiddle tunes I used to use with my band students that I can add to this later and Iíll be glad to offer them for free as well. This material does no one any good sitting on my hard drive. Iím glad to share it if it might be helpful to anyone else.
