Re: Intermediate Trigger Trombones - Thoughts & Suggestions
Go with Jupiter. 10 year warranty, good sound and tone. Consider closed wrap, though, if you're going to ever let them outside - the extra slide sticking out gets dinged frequently. I love Getzen horns, don't get me wrong, but Jupiter's price point and warranty makes them a winner in my book.
I can't speak much of Antoine Courtois, but a quick google says they're owned by Buffet, which means they're likely a rebranded Besson. Besson makes great euphoniums, but I've never heard them thought well of for their trombones.
Go with the Jupiters.
We're looking at getting some intermediate Bb/F trombones for next year. We don't have a ton of money (tiny 2A), and I'd like to get a model that we can purchase again as the program grows.
I'm looking at the Jupiter JTB1150FO Performance Series, Getzen 547 Capri w/F attachment, and the Antoine Courtois AC260.
I've never heard of Antoine Courtois, and I worry about the music store being able to get parts for them.
