You could do a Remington pattern and have them play 6 8ths in triple and then on the note change play 4 duple 8th notes. And then go through in Remington pattern F - E, F - Eb, F - D, etc...
When I did Js jig I had them think about their foot tap a lot
Down press up for 6/8 and then down up for the duple 8th notes.

What are some exercises you use for duples in 6/8? 2 against 3.
Looking at JS Jig and curious as to strategies for this.
