In addition, there was a rape/sexual encounter in a practice room ..... I used a practice room to teach out of w/ a small group of students and I was not told about this encounter until 4-5 weeks after the investigation of which he was a part of.
This prima donna thought he walked on water. He was above all policies that the school and district had. He falsely accused me of things I did not do. I kept thinking- you idiots- just pull the cameras... you find that I am not lying. This was my first negative encounter with the generation that everyone has spoken about. Your person and my co-worker sound like they are related or as if they may have been acquaintances. I hung on until the year was starting to get busy. I then went to the head principal told them about a few choice incidents. I told this person that was tired of putting up with their garbage. I had let it go in one ear and out there other for 7 long months. I decided the nice salary was not worth the headache. I went home that weekend thinking how nice it would to not come to work. The only option I had at that moment was to quit. And, quit I did. What a fabulous feeling that was. I did not tell a soul.I did tell the principal, of course. I did not beg for my position back. I thought they could do better things with it. The district did as I had hoped. The position was dissolved and they no longer had a person in the band department to harass.
One of the other band directors came up to me about 2 weeks later and asked if I had anything I needed to talk about and I said no. He said, but you are quitting and I said, so. I know it must have driven up the wall that I had not thing to say to them.
The moral of story- do not put up with crap. I had already found out that my district takes sides. If they are friends with a person that you are complaining about they will not take you seriously. Even if that person is harassing you. I pray that someday this district will get a lawsuit so they will learn their lesson: take all complaints seriously.
For the elective teacher that had the ability to quit 3 times- that should have been prevented. The first time he submitted his letter- the book should have been closed. He should not have been allowed back in. Now, that person will think that all positions can be handled this way. If he had been employed by me I would have had the security officer escort him to his car the Monday after the first submission of resignation. The person does not know anything. No psychiatrist can fix severely broken.
I was initially going to ask if you taught for the prison system....but, I guess not. That elective teacher should apply at Windham schools. If I were you I would volunteer for anything that person had assigned to them. Sounds like they were the wanna be powder puff organizer
