Hindsight being 20/20, I would not recommend resigning this far from the end of the year. Once people know you are a "lame duck" director you will more than likely get MORE @#%* from them. Also, the admin may pressure you to leave at Christmas, especially if they know you don't want to be there and they think they can get someone else in there for January.
Several years ago both myself and the HBD resigned the Monday after Region Marching Contest effective at the end of our contracts (June 10) after having been at that district for several years. I landed my first head position right after Spring Break, and the HBD got his new gig the week afterwards.
I hate my job. HATE IT! Every single thing about it. I hate my admin, hate my ineffective FAD, hate the counselors, hate one of my coworkers (the other one is whatever), hate the school culture and I hate coming to work everyday.
It makes me physically ill. I cry on my way to work at least 3 times a week. I find zero joy in the day to day. It's effecting me outside of work since I'm always tired. My husband says all I do is complain about work.
We have decided that no matter what, I will not return after this school year. I really just want to turn in my resignation but I know people will start treating me poorly but I also want them to know how much they have killed my spirit.
Has anyone turned in a resignation early in the year just because. I have no future job prospects. But emotionally I can't be here again.
