You sweet summer child.
Aside from 1A classification, Texas allows 4 teams in each district into the playoffs, 2A-6A.
Some districts have only four teams.
Therefore, REGARDLESS of their record, they make the playoffs.
This year alone, there are 3 1-9 teams, multiple 2-8 teams - and three teams at 0-10 in the UIL football playoffs: Iraan, Era, and Reagan County.
Please educate yourself. Learn how UIL works. Learn how the judging system works. If you think you're worthy of doing better, apply to be a judge and start "tightening up" contests when/if you're hired. You'll find you won't get a lot of work - people won't hire a guy with a reputation for giving 2s or 3s to programs that usually earn 1s.
Judging is what it is under the current system. If you want to change the system, that's another story - but that's a debate that's been going on for nearly 50 years with no end in sight.
And 0-10 teams donít advance to the playoffs. Do 3-7 teams make it to the playoffs? Sure do! Do they deserve to go? Maybe, depending on how well they did in their district. If they make it to the playoffs by winning only 1 or 2 games, do they still play the game and compete? Darn right, while also spending huge amounts of $$$ to rent a neutral stadium, bus them to the game and back, and most likely feed the team as well.
How about tightening up the judging and not advance marginal bands to the area contest.
Take that same mentality with football playoffs. If you are an 0-10 team, you donít needto advance to the playoffs. You should just stay home. After all, you donít need to go.
Your argument is stupid.
