Re: District "cold weather" rehearsal policy?
This could be a local decision.
It was 29-30 degrees at the start of our rehearsal this morning. A beautiful layer of frost on the field. Really nice. Kids were warned to dress appropriately. Left front ensemble and electronics inside. We were out long enough to warm up, run the show standing, run the drill team tune with the ladies, and run the show. We were out for 25 minutes. Fun fact. Playing our opener - Surfin' USA - did nothing to warm us up
Huh. Here's a new one on me. I got somewhat of a 'warning' from my front office after marching rehearsal this morning. The temp was mid-30s but we have a ball game tonight and have to run the show, rehearse with drill team, etc.
Front office emailed me a district document outlawing outside rehearsal for temps below 40 degrees. Is that really a thing??
What about the ball games themselves? I've had plenty of below 40 degrees football games and they didn't cancel those.
Am I alone in this?
