Re: Is it time to disclose marching program COSTS?
First and foremost look at my screen name. I am at a small isolated rural 1A school. But, I have been a head 5A director in my career as well, so I have been in both worlds. That being said, this is a slippery slope. I don't think we should stick our noses in what other schools spend. We already have enough regulations and restrictions as it is, not to mention the paperwork and forms to keep up with due to new UIL regualtions that have been added over the years. I don't agree with the spending of thousands upon thousands on electronics, props, etc. But, who am I to say that a school doesn't have the right spend as much money as they want on these things? It's a local decision. What will we want to regulate next, private lessons for kids? Again, I say this as one who will never get to have techs, props, private lessons, etc. Heck, I will never even get an assistant, nor do I really want one. But that's another thread.
