Re: Jazz Band Warm Ups
I've used The 10 Minute Jazz Warmup (that's literally the title). Lots of exercises in articulation, scales, tuning, etc. Easily adaptable to whatever you need to work on. I added some small solos to pass around to the band, and we did variations on the scales. The scales go around the circle of 5ths, so you can do one in dorian, the next in mixolydian, the next in major, and you have ii-V7-I.
You can also pick an easy blues head in an easy key (c jam blues in Bb?) and alternate playing the head with passing solos around. Experiment with different heads and different keys as the talent level increases.
