Re: How do you handle contract days vs time off?
That really would depend on your relationship with your staff and the direction of you program. I am on a 12 month and my assistants are both on 11. If there is something that I need help with, I just ask them to help. I try to get everything done that I would need help with within 2 weeks of school being out for summer. That way its done and they don't need to be at he school anymore than necessary. I can get all the rest done before we come back for summer band.
Hey Yellowboard, how do you handle the "in between months"(June and July) with staff that aren't always on contract? Some districts do 10 month/11 month/ 12 month contracts, while others pay "extra days", while others just give a "band" stipend. Do you require your staff to work when not on contract? What happens if a conflict arises when staff aren't on contract? Curious what people do.
