I am having a hard time getting the students to put more mental effort into playing their articulations correctly. They slur when it is marked tongued and tongue when it is marked slurred. When I point it out to them, they do it correctly but why do I have to point that out to them?! Am I missing something in the teaching process? Is this a normal issue? Does it happen in other programs? Thank you for any help you can offer!
