One of the latest in designs in the Pilot Silvern (Silver) Art & Craft range, the engraved Pongee pattern pen. “Pongee” is a fabric fine texture, typically woven from silk, originally from China. The engraving softens the look of the silver and adds a tactile quality to the pen.

The pen is mint, bought in 2019 and never used. It comes complete with the case and outer card box, documents, unused converter and a Pilot cartridge. The 18k gold nib is rhodium plated and is a fine point.

Pilot announced the Art Craft Silvern range in 1969 with a range of raised etched patterns. The range had nickel plated trim with a straight clip and large 18k nibs. In 2004. In 1989 the ball clip was added and in 2004 a new range of acid etched designs, including the pongee design based on kimono fabric.
