The Marcel Proust pen was the eighth in the Writers Edition series which was launched in with the Hemingway pen in 1992. It returned to an earlier style, reminiscent of the Medici pen in the Patron of Art series, with its octagonal facetted sterling silver body with a style of engraving from pens of 100 years earlier.
The Proust pen was released in an edition of 21000, of which 17000 were fountain pens; this pen being number 06700/21000, engraved on the cap. The barrel also has the engraved signature of the writer. The nib is 18k gold, rhodium plated and engraved with an hour-glass in reference to Proust’s most famous books. This nib is fine point writing a smooth line with some nice flex. The pen is a piston filler and the piston has been serviced by Montblanc.

The pen has been inked just twice, once when I bought it and now to provide a sample of the nib writing. It comes with the book style case and the outer card box and the documentation and is in “as new” condition.
