A custom Parker 51 aerometric set of fountain pen and pencil by the well-known Brazilian goldsmith Celestino Praça who fashioned different designs in 18k gold for the Parker 51s, vac and aerometric. This pen is from his work in the 1950s when Rio de Janeiro was becoming very fashionable. Both pen and pencil have his maker’s imprint “CP” on the clip. The gold work is more “luxurious” than the factory work by Parker. The set has very light – illegible – marks on the indicias of the pen and pencil which may indicate that it once had a name on it, perhaps a presentation.
The set is in excellent condition and with no scratches or dents to the gold work. I bought it some years ago from the Swan Auction house in New York.
