A black first generation Parker 61 with the Rainbow Cap in silver and nickel, a design which Parker called “Lagacy” and is I am told the most difficult of the rainbow caps to find.The rainbow cap 61s are especially beautiful but production was short-lived as the production process to control the two different metals was difficult, prone to wastage in manufacturing and hence short-lived.
The pen is a capillary filler which is a thin tube covered in Teflon which fills the pen simply by dipping the end of the tube into the ink. They are also very easy to clean by just flushing the tube using a rubber bulb.
The pen is in excellent condition, the rainbow cap is bright with no damage, the barrel is also excellent and the filler works perfectly. The pen has an EF 14k nib and is a smooth firm writer.
