Combining a pencil with a slide rule, a neat idea in 1929, the Ruxton Multi-Vider was advertised in Popular Mechanics for engineers, salesmen, bankers and brokers, factory workers and sportsmen and just about everyone else. It has a steel “chassis” mounted with a Bakelite slide rule and gold-filled pencil. The slide rule is in excellent condition and the mechanism works smoothly. So is the pencil with no brassing od the excellent quality gold-filled cone, clip and top. The pencil takes 1.1mm leads which are loaded by sliding open the body.
Copies of adverts for the Multi-Vider come up on eBay but the actual Multi-Vider does not seem to. I have had this one for about 15 years. When I bought it I had to re-learn how to use slide rule; there are plenty of instructions on Google and YouTube.
