Pelikan released the Mount Everest Special Edition pens in 2008 as part of its special Beauty of Nature Series. There were six separate themes, and three pens in each series: a fountain, a rollerball & a ballpoint. Each pen is the 640 size. These pens are very different from the others in the M6xx family. The metal barrel provides a certain degree of heft, and the pen is slightly longer than the traditional M6xx. The cap clip is not the traditional pelican’s beak but more broad and less beak-like. The cap, section, and barrel are made of matching colored resin. The furniture is rhodium plated and the nib is 18C-750 two-toned nib. For sale here are the fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint of the Mount Everest special edition. All of the pens are new/NOS, but the rollerball and ballpoint refills with time are likely not usable. The fountain pen uses Pelikan's piston fill, and the piston operates smoothly. The pen has a 14K medium nib. The fountain pen and ballpoint pen come in their original cases which are like new. They also have the original outer cardboard boxes, which are clearly labeled and have edge wear. The Mount Everest case style is the grey one in the top of last photo.
