Uhlmann’s Eterno, Safety Fountain Pen. C: 1930s, Italy.
Uhlmann’s was issued Italy’s first patent for a fountain pen in 1902 (10 years before
Montegrappa, starting in 1912).
This fountain pen has a beautiful two tone 18 K.R. = Gold Filled, (both white and yellow gold)
cap and barrel. The lower barrel and lower cap clearly stamped “18 K.R. ETERNO”. The pocket clip
is quite stunning as well and remains sturdy as original.
The nib is Uhlmann’s Eterno 14k with extra fine point nib. The nib is very smooth, with very nice flex.
New seals installed and has Zero leaks. Since doing a writing sample, the pen has been rinsed well.
The only issues to report are: a couple small spots of slight plating loss and there is a dent on cap top.
This dent is noticeable, but more than not, camouflaged by the ornate/relief pattern.
All is in proper/as original working order. This pen measures 4 11/16” capped.
