The Symphony was Eversharp’s last quality fountain pen, designed by Raymond Leowy. A simpler design than the earlier Skyline with plastic barrel and metal cap, it was made for about three years, 1950 to about 1953. After the expensive problems with its ballpen the company did not have the resources to compete with Parker and Sheaffer.
This Symphony pen has a black plastic barrel and a chrome plated cap with gold filled clip. The pen is a lever filler with an Eversharp 14k gold nib similar or the same as the Skyline. It still has the shop label showing that is a Model 701, priced at $5 with a “Flexible Medium” nib. Closed the Symphony is 14cm and with the cap posted, 15.7cm.
The pen is in excellent condition, apparently having had little use.
