A beautiful Waterman CF gold plated milleraies set of fountain pen, ballpoint pen and pencil complete in the original case, made in France in the early 1970s.
The fountain pen has a fine nib and I have added a new CF converter for bottled ink. The Waterman CF cartridges are no longer available.
The Ballpoint pen has a new working refill; it takes slim refills which are shared with Cartier ballpoint pens.
The mechanical pencil has lead and an almost unused eraser.
The C/F was probably Waterman’s most successful fountain pen in the postwar era. Designed by Harley J Earl associates who headed design at General Motors in the post-war era of the Corvette and rocket-inspired tailfins, the pen was launched in 1957 and introduced the modern cartridge/converter filler as well as a striking new look. Made for about 30 years in a range which eventually embraced plastic student pens, silver and gold plated pens and solid gold pens in beautiful patterns.
The set appears to have had little use and is in excellent condition. The clip tops have neatly, unobtrusive engraved initials “NP”.
