Fine/medium sized nib, writes wonderfully. Lay down a nice reliable line, great for shading. The modified breather hole has made the nib flexible, so flexes from f/m to BBB. Note that this is not a vintage flex nib, so don't expect 'vintage flex' like snapback. See writing sample. It is softer and easier to get line variation than other modern 'flex' nibs.
It comes with two housing and ebonite feeds. The original housing and ebonite feed works great and works with cartridge converter.
The second housing unit was modified by me be used with non converter Mechanism (eyedropper, piston filler, bulk filler, etc). I used a needle file to remove the area that attaches to ink converter. The reason for it was to increase ink that would actually get to the ebonite feed. So I paired it with a Blue Ebonite Feed by Leonardo. Let me just say that Leonardo makes wonderful pens but also wonderful ebonite feeds! The blue ebonite feed has a shiny and slick finish, just love looking at it. But even more impressive is how it performs. The issue with the standard feed is that sometimes it under performs as it can't keep up well with the flex capabilities of the nib. This blue Leo feed provides truly spectacular ink flow to the pen.
So you'll have two ways to use nib - one with ink converter and another with non ink converter mechanism. Or if you have a spare Bock #8 nib then you'll have a spare housing and feed.
If you have a pen that accepts a Bock #8 nib unit and want to give it a superb nib then this is for you.
Condition - great condition, some signs of use. I did mention that one of the housing unit was modified.
