Fountain Pen
Limited Edition # 2987/4810
Year 2007
To the present day, Alexander von Humboldt is regarded as the most prominent German naturalist and explorer and an influential patron of the arts and culture. Humboldt embarked on many years of travel, exploring the countries and cultures of South and Central America before returning to his homeland, where he made his name as a philanthropist.
Royal looks and meticulous design define this fountain pen from Montblanc in honour of the geographer, explorer and naturalist, Alexander von Humboldt. The cap and barrel of the Alexander von Humboldt Limited Edition are fashioned from black grenadilla hardwood. Both the ornate inlaid work and the 925 sterling silver clip and fittings are an allusion to the traditional crafts of the native Indio population, whose culture Humboldt studied during his expedition to South America. The platinum-plated 18k gold nib is finely engraved with a sextant - one of the instruments that helped Humboldt to rediscover and measure the world.
