Lamy 2000 fountain pen in brushed black Makrolon, a piston filler with an Oblique Broad 14k gold nib. The nib is incredible smooth, perhaps the smoothest I have experienced on a modern pen.
The Lamy 2000 was the product of Dr Manfred Lamy and the Bauhaus School designer Gerd A Muller and used new materials to produce a finely engineered pen with no decoration. The pen is made of a polycarbonate called Makrolon which is used to manufacture components which require a highly stable, tough and light material.
The 2000 was launched in 1966 and remains in production today. I bought one in 1967 when I got my first proper job after university. It remains a modern classic, finely engineered.
Closed the pen is 13.9cm and with the cap posted 15.5cm.
This pen has been inked only once and is in as new condition and complete with the case and documents.
