Waterman’s Taperite “Citation”, black barrel and cap with very broad gold filled cap band and trim. The pen was made in the USA and the barrel imprint is crisp: “WATERMAN’S MADE IN U.S.A.”. But is must have been exported for sale in England. It comes complete in the original box and with a pristine set of instructions, which have the address of:
“Waterman Pen Company Ltd. The Pen Corner 41 Kingsway London W.C.2.”

Closed the pen is 13.1cm and with the cap posted, 15.6cm.

The Taperite was an attempt by Waterman to compete with the success of the Parker 51. The 14k fine nib is partially hooded and has the characteristic softness of Waterman’s, an attractive smooth firm writer.

CONDITION: excellent, just the usual minor marks from use, very crisp imprint, no brassing of the trim, the pen fills and writes smoothly. The box is also in excellent condition with no marks or ink stains and the instructions are in perfect condition, appearing to be unused.
