Waterman C/F fountain pens in moiré pattern silver and gold plated with black lacquer sections and new C/F converters.
The Waterman C/F was probably their most successful fountain pen in the postwar era. Designed by Harley J Earl associates who headed design at General Motors in the post-war era of the Corvette and rocket-inspired tailfins, the pen was launched in 1957 and introduced the modern cartridge/converter filler as well as a striking new look. Made for about 30 years in a range which eventually embraced plastic student pens, silver and gold plated pens and solid gold pens in beautiful patterns.
These two pens in the swirling moiré pattern, one silver plated, one gold plated, were made in France around 1971. They both have 18K gold fine nibs and are fitted with a new converter for bottled ink. (C/F ink cartridges are no longer made by Waterman and the current Waterman cartridges do not fit the C/F.)
CONDITION: excellent condition, no brassing of the plating and complete with the C/F converters for bottled ink.
